7 Reasons Why We’re on Tripadvisor and Viator Now

Today, if you walk into most hotels and restaurants in La Jolla, you’re likely to find a Tripadvisor certificate of excellence or a “top-rated” sign, but until now, the company hasn’t been known as a resource to find vacation rentals, tours and attractions for booking.

Tripadvisor pageTripadvisor is without a doubt the largest online travel service on the web. The category they dominate is called online travel agencies or OTA and, as of last month, TourFreely has our La Jolla: The Riviera of California GPS audio tour available for purchase and download to your cell phone for $5. TripAdvisor recently purchased another OTA that specializes in experiences and tours in the travel world called Viator and our tour is also available there. The two sites will eventually merge but for now they’re separate. TourFreely is also working to add our tours to other OTAs like Booking.com, Expedia, and Google.”

There are other GPS audio tours from companies like GetYourGuide and Klook, but ours is the first La Jolla tour on the market. The technology platform that we use is from VoiceMap who provides downloadable GPS audio tours for locations around the world. We chose to work with VoiceMap because their technology is the best and their curation overlooking their tours is outstanding.

Why Have Reviews Become So Important?

With the advent of the Internet and cell phones, consumer reviews of products and services have become extremely important for the success of any business. When it comes to the travel business, Tripadvisor is the big dog that is used by millions of customers looking for anything from flights, hotels, restaurants and “Things to Do” such as tours like ours. But why are these reviews so important? There are many advantages for both the consumers needing guidance before purchasing and the businesses providing these services. Trekksoft is a company offering business management software for tour companies and they came up with seven reasons why consumer reviews are so important here in the 21st century.

  • People trust peers as much (if not more) than professional critics
  • Online reviews are good for search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Reviews generate feedback which helps improve products and services
  • Reviews open a channel of communication which can be used to thank the customer or quiz them about the experience.
  • User Generated Content (UGC) can create stories to tell across various platforms like social media sites.
  • Negative reviews can be good because they make the good reviews more authentic, but you certainly don’t want too many.
  • Reviews help consumers with product selection

So, when you leave a review you are doing your fellow travelers a great service, but you are also providing the businesses with the feedback they need to take the quality of their service up to the next level.

Our La Jolla tour has two 5-star reviews on VoiceMap but since we are new to both Viator and Tripadvisor, the people who have purchased the tour have yet to leave reviews so we want to offer a special deal to the first 3 people who would like to take the tour for free and take a few minutes to review it here on Tripadvisor. Just send us a message by sending us your email here on our contact us page and we will send a free tour code so you can enjoy the hour long walk at your convenience. Once downloaded to your mobile phone, the tour is yours to use at anytime without expiration. If you would like to get an idea about what to expect on the tour then check out Mindy’s YouTube video introduction here.  So send us your info and get out there on a nice Southern California day and enjoy the sites and sounds of La Jolla: The Riviera of California!
