Immerse yourself in the history and architecture of La Jolla, California’s version of The French Riviera that’s also known as the Jewel City. On this GPS-guided audio tour, I’ll tell you the backstory of the city, highlighting details about this sun-kissed seaside community that most visitors miss.

You’ll stroll through the downtown village, hearing fascinating fun facts about La Jolla’s early days and seeing its highlights as you go. I’ll show you San Diego’s most scenic wedding location, and where the first margarita was poured in the U. S. The final stretch of the tour takes you along the town’s breathtaking coastline where you’ll hear about the barking sea lions and seals that call the area home.

On this walking tour around La Jolla, you’ll also have the chance to:

• View historical sites designed by architect Irving Gill
• Take in an expansive vista from a tucked-away and often-missed historical observation deck
• Swing by the iconic La Valencia Hotel, where Hollywood luminaries like Gregory Peck and Dorothy Maguire stayed.

A great tour! App was very user friendly and, as it is GPS driven, it just start by itself when you reach important places. it also tells you you are lost as you took the wrong turn. Specific guide was a local and spoke very clearly. Great value!

Tour was great! Informative and easy to use. The narrator knew her stuff and made it interesting. We loved the fact that we go at our own pace.

This was a very helpful and informative tour that enhanced our 1 day visit. We’ll organized, it makes the most of GPS and cell phone technology. Narrator is an area expert. Highly recommend!

Through the city to the shore to discover the magic! I never did an audio tour like this before, but highly recommend it. By a native La Jollan, you will learn the little secrets of history and fun. The crescendo was perfect too. This tour was a great experience! A helpful, easy-to-use and a great resource.

    Fun audio walking tour!
This tour was perfect – it was well narrated, easy to navigate and would take you back on course if you go off course (which I typically do easily). I learned a lot and can’t wait to use more of the tours in other places!

    Fantastic!
I highly recommend the La Jolla tour! The narrator, a native La Jollan, has curated an informative tour with beautiful scenic views. Who knew the first margarita was served in La Jolla! It is a great way to orient yourself to this lovely town.

    Photo Ops Galore!
I had the pleasure of enjoying this audio tour over the holidays and thoroughly enjoyed it every step of the way! There is so much history and natural beauty in the area and what a treat to have it told to you by a La Jolla native! If you’re in the San Diego area and looking to take in the beauty of the shore and a little history then this is a great option.

Self guided Tour using own phones
Tour information was excellent and presenter was easy to understand. Would highly recommend and will use again. Areas that could be improved: There is a learning curve to any new process. It would be helpful if there was some way to practice rather then standing on the sidewalk in the middle of the city. Need better starting directions. Use building numbers to insure going in the right direction. Tour did cut out for some reason (apps on my phone maybe or loss of signal). It was not clear how to handle this situation. We started app from beginning and clicked on the marker for where we lost the signal. Biggest issue for us was that we each had the app on our phone and they were not in sync. One person would stop walking to listen and others were hearing nothing. Didn’t know if app had quit or just was delayed for some reason. Using bluetooth with one phone and ear buds would have been much better. Still, all in all it was a great way to learn at our own pace and hope the technology can overcome these few problems to make it even better in the future.

    Spring break
Listening to the tour at our own pace! And getting in a workout at the same time :-). A side note: the only reason I didn’t give it a five star , I was having issues with guided tour on my android phone. I had to share earpods with my daughter using her apple phone. Other than that it was an amazing audio guided tour.

    Great Overview/Walk
Nice walk and great overview of La Jolla. App was a little tricky to figure out, but once I did I enjoyed the walk.

Excellent Walking Tour of Downtown La Jolla
Such an insightful, educational and scenic walking tour of La Jolla. Loved it! Especially where the first margarita in the states was served, the #1 wedding location and Sunny Jim’s Cave.

La Jolla walk thru town and by the water
Easy to follow – not too long with some interesting facts. The walk by the water is part of the tour and is beautiful. If you have time, this is an easy way to guide you and learn about the town.
